What did the recorded care mean in the person’s life?
The experience interview begins with the clinical documentation. We ask one direct question at a time, about one thing, so each answer is easy to give.
Health shapes life. Life shapes care.
The account follows what the person reports about daily activities, work, relationships, access to care and changes over time. Journals, photographs and other authorized personal material can provide additional context.
Questions seek the person’s account without assuming an effect or a cause. An answer can confirm, qualify or disagree with a clinical entry. The interview is source material; the finished experience document is a source-linked account.
The person’s words retain their attribution. An interpretation remains identified as an interpretation.
